🚀 Getting started

The basics, from sign-up to your first scheduled post.

What is Loop?

Loop schedules and publishes posts to your social accounts from one dashboard. You connect your accounts, write a post (or generate one with AI), pick a time, and Loop publishes it for you — then tracks whether it went out.

Create your account

Open the login page and choose Create account. Enter your name, email, and a password (at least 8 characters, with a letter and a number). We email you a verification link — click it to activate your account, and you land straight on your dashboard.

Use your email and password, or choose Continue with Google. Google sign-ins are verified automatically, so there's no email step.

The dashboard at a glance

The left menu has five places: Dashboard (an overview of your accounts and post counts), Compose (write and schedule), Queue (everything you've lined up), Connected Accounts (link networks), and Settings.

🔗 Connecting accounts

You only ever see and manage your own connected accounts.

Which networks can I connect?

Right now: Bluesky, Mastodon, Facebook Pages, Threads, and LinkedIn. Instagram, X, YouTube, TikTok and Pinterest aren't available yet — they need image or video support, or paid API access.

Connect Bluesky

In Bluesky, go to Settings → Privacy and security → App passwords and create one. Then in Loop, open Connected Accounts, enter your handle (like you.bsky.social) and that app password. Loop stores it encrypted.

Connect Mastodon

In your Mastodon account, go to Preferences → Development → New application, give it the write:statuses scope, and copy the access token. In Loop, enter your instance URL (like https://mastodon.social) and the token.

Connect Facebook, Threads, or LinkedIn

These use a Connect button that sends you to the network to approve access — no tokens to copy. If a network shows “not set up yet,” your Loop admin still needs to add that platform's app credentials before it can be used.

Remove an account

Open Connected Accounts and choose Disconnect. Any posts still scheduled to that account won't publish once it's removed.

📤 Publishing & scheduling

Write once, line it up, and let Loop send it.

Write and schedule a post

Go to Compose, type your post (or use Generate with AI), choose the account and a date and time, then Add to queue. It'll appear in your queue as Scheduled.

Character limits

Each network has its own limit — Bluesky 300, Mastodon and Threads 500, LinkedIn 3,000, Facebook 5,000. The counter under the box turns red if you go over the limit for the account you've picked.

The queue and post statuses

Your queue shows every post and its status: Scheduled (waiting), Publishing (going out now), Published (live, with a link), or Failed (couldn't post after three tries). Loop retries automatically before marking anything failed.

Times and time zones

Scheduled times use your site's time zone. To change it, an admin sets it under WordPress → Settings → General.

Delete a post

In the queue, use Delete on any row. Scheduled posts are removed right away; published ones stay on the network.

Why didn't my post go out on time?

Loop publishes on a recurring check. On sites with little traffic, that check can lag, so a real server cron is more reliable than WordPress's built-in timer. Ask your admin to set one up — there's a snippet in Loop → Settings.

✨ AI composer

A first draft in seconds — you stay in control of the final words.

Generate a post with AI

In Compose, describe what you want to say and click Generate with AI. Loop drafts a post into the box, which you can edit before scheduling.

AI isn't working for me

If Generate does nothing, your admin hasn't added an AI key yet. You can still write and schedule posts by hand — AI is optional.

🔑 Account & login

Getting in, and staying in.

I didn't get my verification email

Check your spam folder first. On the sign-up confirmation screen you can resend the link. If it still doesn't arrive, the site may not be set up to send email yet — let your admin know so they can add an email (SMTP) plugin.

My verification link expired

Links are good for 24 hours. If yours expired, just register again with the same email to get a fresh one.

Sign in with Google

Choose Continue with Google on the login page. Google confirms your email, so there's no separate verification step.

I can't log in

First make sure your email is verified — unverified accounts can't sign in. If you created your account with Google, use the Continue with Google button rather than a password.

🔧 Troubleshooting

The quick fixes for the things that come up most.

A post failed

Open the queue and read the reason on the failed row. The most common cause is a connection that has expired — go to Connected Accounts and reconnect that account, then reschedule the post.

“Token expired” or posts suddenly stopped

Network connections last around 60 days. When one lapses, reconnect the account from Connected Accounts to refresh it, and scheduling resumes.

/dashboard/ or /login/ shows “Not found”

This is a permalink setting. An admin should open WordPress → Settings → Permalinks, choose Post name, and save — that makes the app's pages resolve.

Verification emails never arrive

The site needs to send email reliably. On most hosts the default mail isn't dependable, so an admin should install an SMTP plugin (such as WP Mail SMTP) and connect it to an email service.
